Made from 20 sheets of acid-free card stock within hard covers sealed with polyurethane.
5 illustrated panels, each in 4 nested accordion-folded layers. Original ink drawings, paper handcut with x-acto knife accented with watercolor. Signed and dated.

”Sacred” was created during my time as a Visiting Artist at the Gibbes Museum of Art in downtown Charleston, SC. I sketched the women from portraits in the museum’s exhibition halls. I incorporated additional imagery I drew from the tombstones in the cemetery of the Circular Church across the street from the museum. The Bible verse was found in a stained glass window at the nearby Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The dates are of the lifespans of the women illustrated.

This form is called a carousel book because it can be positioned in the round, or display open standing upright, face up on a table. Closes fully to store away in your library. Collaged cover is sealed with polyurethane for maximum durability. Includes two sleek display stands for front-facing and in-the-round.
